Mayor Chris Staley said Washington City will issue a request for qualifications (RFQ) to guide redevelopment of nearly seven acres of assembled, city-owned property in the downtown Main Street and Telegraph area.
Staley said the RFQ will cover planning, revitalization and redevelopment and that the city will prioritize a development team prepared to collaborate with the city, acquire the parcel and move forward without delay. He said the RFQ will require the chosen partner to address density, height, setbacks, parking and quality-of-life issues.
The mayor said the RFQ is scheduled for final review by the city council later this month; if the review proceeds as planned the document will open on April 1 and remain open until July 2, 2025, at 2 p.m.
Staley did not identify a preferred developer or provide financial terms; he said the city will look for a partner willing to acquire and build on the assembled parcels and to coordinate with the city on design and siting issues.
