Curry County commissioners approved a request to extend the county's contract with Curry Public Transit through March 31, 2025, to give staff time to complete outstanding audit items and prepare an RFP for future transit service contracts.
County operations staff said the current Curry Public Transit operator's manager was temporarily out of the area, which delayed some documentation; staff are coordinating with ODOT to extend the contract while the county completes its audit and bids the service as required by state rules. Staff noted that while Curry Public Transit is likely to submit a bid, the county must put the contract out to competitive procurement.
The board approved the contract extension by unanimous vote.
