Klamath County commissioners adopted Ordinance 5204 to amend County Code chapter 104 and increase the administrative fee for the Public Land Corner Preservation Fund from $5 to $10.

Commissioners said the fund supports preservation, reestablishment and maintenance of government survey corners used for land surveying and property boundary identification. County staff told the board the current $5 fee collected for recording related documents no longer meets the fund's financial needs and cited ORS 205.130 and ORS 203.148 as the statutory authorities referenced during the hearing.
During the hearing the board asked for public comment; no members of the public signed up to speak. After the public hearing, the board moved to adopt Ordinance 5204 amending Chapter 104 to increase the administrative fee to $10; the motion carried on a voice vote.
The ordinance will increase revenues to the Public Land Corner Preservation Fund to support ongoing maintenance and preservation of government survey corners.
