The Boone City Council approved a site plan and stormwater plan for the DAISY food-manufacturing project in the 2700 block of Eastgate Drive on annexed land east of Boone.
Planning staff told the council the development sits on approximately 70 to 80 acres of annexed land. Staff said the DAISY facility's planned footprint has increased from about 750,000 square feet in earlier discussions to roughly 1,200,000 square feet. Company representatives described the planned use as large-scale food manufacturing, with cottage cheese and sour cream listed as production items.
Planning staff reported that the plan had been reviewed by staff and by the Boone Municipal Zoning (BMZ) board on March 10, and BMZ recommended approval. The council voted to approve the site plan and stormwater plan at the meeting.
The council and staff did not provide detailed financial terms or incentive packages at the meeting. Council members thanked staff and the applicant following the approval.
