Oakland County Board Chair David T. Woodward notified the board March 18 that he had used his authority to approve a grant application in excess of $50,000 to meet a submission deadline.
The one-paragraph communication, dated March 18, 2025, named the grant "Unlocking Capital on Main Street," identified the submitting department as Economic Development Planning and the Local Business Development Division, and listed the amount as $50,000 with a grant application deadline of March 10, 2025. Chair Woodward said the action was taken because it was not possible to submit the application for full board consideration in accordance with the normal calendar and deadlines.
Commissioners moved to receive and file the communication; the clerk recorded the communications were received unanimously after a motion was moved by Commissioner Luebs and seconded by Commissioner Weyper.
