Skagit County Public Works reports no bids for three oil-tank cleaning contract

Skagit County Public Works representatives opened bids for a contract to clean and maintain three oil storage tanks used by the county's road operations division and reported that no bids were received. "We have no bids today, so we will meet with staff and evaluate what our next steps will be," said Jason Bloodgood, who with Jamie Paris represents the equipment division of Skagit County Public Works.
The absence of bids leaves the county without an immediate contractor for cleaning and maintaining the three oil tanks that serve road operations. Bloodgood said equipment-division staff will meet internally to decide how to proceed and did not announce a timeline for re-solicitation.
Earlier in the meeting, an unnamed speaker said a separate agenda item related to a base bid and alternative bid items had been removed; that speaker also said one supplier named in the base bid could not provide topsoil. That comment was not tied to a named county official and appears to concern a different procurement item.
