Good morning, everyone. I'll call this rules committee for March 18 to order, and we'll note for the committee record that there is a quorum present," the chair said.
Co Vice Chair Hollins moved to approve the March 13 minutes. "I have, Mr. Chair, and I move their approval. Any discussion? Seeing none, all those in favor say aye," Hollins said. The minutes were adopted by voice vote.
The chair then introduced the calendar for Thursday, March 20, listing the bills and sponsors as part of the proposed calendar: House File 320 (Representative Perriman), House File 688 (Representative Frazier), House File 1255 (Representative Novotny) and Senate File 202 (Representative Feis). The chair moved "the adoption of the calendar for the day pursuant to rule 1.21 and 3.33." The committee’s subsequent announcement said the panel would "designate Thursday, March 20 for the adoption of the calendar for the day and establish a pre filing requirement for amendments offered to those bills." There was no discussion and the motion carried on a voice vote.
With the calendar adopted and the pre-filing requirement established, the chair asked if there was any further business, then adjourned the meeting.
The committee did not debate the merits of the listed bills during the March 18 meeting; the action taken was procedural, setting the agenda and amendment process for the March 20 calendar day.
