Council reports: Bryan Business Council adopts 2025 plan; intergovernmental talks on Enloe area; BISD strategic steering committee begins

Councilmembers reported recent committee activity including business council actions, intergovernmental coordination on a border-area redevelopment and school-district planning.
Councilwoman (unnamed) said the Bryan Business Council (BBC) recently revised its subcommittees for education, commercial finance and tourism, adopted a 2025 plan of work and committed to sponsor a singer-songwriter music festival in downtown Bryan this fall. The BBC's sponsorship would support talent booking, venue agreements and marketing; the festival was described as a partnership with Destination Bryan and Kyle Hutton. The BBC also committed again to sponsor the City of Bryan's Open House event, scheduled April 24 at Legends Event Center.
On intergovernmental coordination, councilmembers reported participation with College Station, TxDOT and Texas A&M University on plans for the Enloe/Northgate area at the southern border with College Station. The group discussed a project to improve the waterway/ditch that forms the municipal boundary and to create a walkable, lit pathway connecting Northgate-area development to nearby parks and Central Park's green space.
Councilmembers also noted the Bryan Independent School District's launch of a strategic steering committee beginning this week, with roughly 60 participants expected to advise the district's long-range planning.
Councilmembers thanked colleagues for attending meetings and noted ongoing coordination among the city, school district, TxDOT and university partners on redevelopment and events. No formal council action on these reports was recorded at the workshop.
