OCIO data center projects seek HVAC replacement and seismic protections in Carson City

Project 25M16 is a $1,700,000 request to design and construct a seismic‑rated raised floor in the server and printer rooms to reduce the risk of equipment loss during seismic events. Mike Brown said Nevada’s high seismic activity informed the need for the raised floor.
Public works paused for questions but no committee members raised substantive concerns during the presentation. Both projects are sited in Carson City and are presented as maintenance priorities to protect state data infrastructure.
Outlook: The division said it stands ready to answer technical follow‑ups and will advance design and procurement if the CIP is approved.
