Tulare County, Farm Bureau and Office of Education present National Ag Week children’s art awards

The Tulare County Board of Supervisors joined the Tulare County Farm Bureau and Tulare County Office of Education on Tuesday to present awards for the annual National Agricultural Week children’s calendar art contest.
Jennifer Souza, an instructor at Reedley College and member of the Farm Bureau education board, said the 2025 contest drew 1,469 entries from about 30 schools. “Our overall winner receives a $50 cash award, and our other 13 winners receive $25 prizes along with certificates from our county supervisors,” Souza told the board. Honorable mentions were also selected.
Supervisors presented certificates to students representing each supervisor district. The board and Farm Bureau officials posed for group photos with winners; the county superintendent of schools, Tim Hyer, joined the presentation. The calendar will be distributed by the Tulare County Office of Education and available at the Farm Bureau office.
The board noted National Ag Day falls during National Ag Week and discussed agriculture’s role in the county. No budget or policy actions were proposed in connection with the award presentations.
