Polk County approved two county hauler license applications: a license for Waste Management of Minnesota and a license for Tim Wilson Excavating.
County staff said Waste Management had been providing services in Polk County for the previous 2½ months without a current county hauler license and that staffing turnover delayed its application. Under the county ordinance, a penalty of $10 per day was assessed; staff confirmed receipt of the required check and recommended approval. The board approved Waste Management’s 2025 Polk County hauler license.
Tim Wilson Excavating (Bemidji) applied for a demolition/hauler license but had not yet hauled demolition waste to Polk County facilities. County staff waived the penalty for that application and recommended approval; the board granted the license.
County staff said applications were reviewed for required documentation and compliance with landfill rules and that the county will monitor haulers for ongoing compliance.
