County Counsel told the board the matter fit one of the exceptions in the state open meetings law and recommended a closed session. After a motion by Commissioner Boddick and a second by Commissioner Mirabella, the clerk called the roll and the chair recorded nine affirmative votes to enter executive session.
The board met in executive session and later voted unanimously, by roll call, to return to open session. County officials told commissioners the executive session minutes would be kept separate and that redacted minutes would be made available in approximately 30 days, with the clerk retaining the original minutes until any confidential limitations have been removed.
No formal public action on the matters discussed in executive session was recorded after the board returned to open session.
