Juneau committee advances updated commercial-use guidelines for parks and trails

The Committee of the Whole voted to move draft commercial-use guidelines for parks and trails to the full assembly for adoption after a staff presentation and public outreach summary.

Parks and Recreation Director George Schaff told the committee the department updated rules last revised in 2004 to respond to growing visitation and new types of commercial use, especially vehicle-based tours.
