Del City council approves ordinances, staffing agreement and hazard plan; rezoning tabled

Del City’s City Council approved a package of ordinances, contracts and administrative actions during its March 17 meeting and directed staff on several implementation items. Council members voted unanimously on the principal items; a rezoning request for 2800 Dave Smith Drive was tabled to April 7.

The council adopted Ordinance No. 1436 to amend Section A‑492 of the zoning code and related sections of the municipal code to eliminate the requirement for a fence permit on residential private property while retaining construction and safety standards (commercial property remains regulated). The motion to approve carried on a 4‑0 recorded vote (Councilwoman Finch — aye; Councilwoman Brown — aye; Councilman Tatum — aye; Mayor Floyd Eason — aye).

The council also approved Ordinance No. 1437, updating the commercial development permit fee schedule as recommended by the Planning Commission.
