Johnny Edge, a resident of Happy Home Road, told the commissioners he had received a letter from the county attorney saying that all information related to a local resource guide had been provided to him and that there was no further action planned.
Edge said the resource guide has been developed since February 2019 and that approximately $10,000,000 in services are available in Columbus County but that many residents do not know how to access them. He said he and other community members have worked on the guide for more than five years and asked the board and County Manager Eddie Madden to support the effort so people in need can find services.
The county attorney had previously told the meeting that the appropriate forum for comments about campgrounds would be the planning board; she did not directly address the resource-guide item in response to Edge's remarks during public comment. Commissioners did not announce a specific next step regarding the resource guide during tonight's meeting.
