Argyle Town Council voted March 17 to continue the town’s membership in the Atmos City Steering Committee and to authorize payment of approximately $0.05 per capita (about $325–$350) to fund the committee’s regulatory and related activities concerning Atmos Energy Corporation.
Staff described the Atmos City Steering Committee as a consortium of cities that retains lead counsel (Thomas Brocato of Lloyd Gosselink in Austin) to represent municipal interests in regulatory and rate proceedings with Atmos. The council was asked to authorize the fee even though the amount was not previously budgeted. Council approved the resolution authorizing continued participation and payment by unanimous vote.
