Cohen Veteran Clinic marks second anniversary, reports thousands of services to veterans in Torrance

A Cohen Veteran Clinic staff member marked the clinic’s second anniversary on the meeting podium in Torrance and described services the clinic offers to veterans, active-duty service members, reservists and their families.

"Our mission is to be able to provide high quality mental health services to our military and military families," the staff member said, adding that the clinic has about 13 clinical offices and provides care for children, adults, families and couples.

The staff member said the clinic’s patient mix is primarily post-9/11 veterans, active-duty service members and guard or reserve members, and also extends services to individuals that a service member identifies as family. "On top of the services that we provide, we do wanna make sure that our families feel safe in this space," the staff member said.

The clinic representative said the program offers child care to allow parents to attend appointments and noted outreach to the community, saying staff had "opened the doors for the community for them to come in and check out our facility, meet our clinicians, and [we're] inviting them inside just to see what we can do for you."

Addressing the clinic’s volume, the staff member said, "In the last 2 years, we've been able to provide 8,000 clinical services. We've had over 800 services provided to our military family here in Torrance, so we're happy to be here." The staff member closed by offering broader help: "If you need service of any kind, I would say from medical to mental."
