After returning from executive session on March 17, Argyle Town Council voted unanimously to hire Erica McComas as town secretary and to authorize the mayor to execute the contract terms discussed in executive session. The council also designated Candy Smith as assistant town secretary and later approved a resolution appointing Ryan Turner to Place 9 on the town’s Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC) for a term ending Oct. 31, 2026.
Council members moved and seconded the personnel appointments immediately after executive session; both measures passed unanimously. The council then considered CPAC’s final seat and approved Turner’s appointment in a separate 7‑0 vote.
Councilors thanked staff and the new appointees. Members discussed minimal procedural clarifications for recording votes in minutes and asked staff to ensure the official record indicates who called meetings when absences occur.
