March 17, 2025 — The Hartford City Operations Management, Budget and Government Accountability Committee voted to postpone consideration of a resolution to review and amend handicap parking policies and parking meter charges.
The resolution, listed as agenda item 2.1 and introduced on the agenda as coming from Council members Molly Rosaro, John Gill and George Mckton in coordination with the Hartford Parking Authority and disability-rights organizations, was postponed to the committee’s next meeting after a motion to delay the item was made, seconded and approved by the committee.
Councilman Emil Kar Hernandez, chair of the committee, opened the meeting and noted the two items on the agenda. A member of the committee moved to postpone item 2.1; another member seconded the motion. Those present voted in favor and the chair announced the item would be postponed to the next committee meeting. The transcript records the motion, a second and an affirmative vote; no additional discussion or vote tally by name was recorded in the meeting minutes.
No formal action on the substance of the handicap-parking resolution was taken. The sponsors named on the agenda and the committee indicated the item will be returned to a future committee meeting for further consideration.
