Alleged assault at rally: Riley Yerigan, 4505 Saddlewood Drive, said he was struck in August while standing at a public rally on Highway 7 and described having neck pain and x-rays that showed signs of whiplash. He said Minnetonka Police responded and that the young person who struck him admitted the act but that the police report ultimately said officers were unable to determine that a crime occurred. Yerigan said he chose to pursue accountability and called for consistent enforcement: “I would like to see something happen with this… this is a great learning opportunity for this young girl to realize that political violence has no place in our state or our city.”
Staff response and next steps: The mayor and staff acknowledged both comments and said staff would follow up with the speakers as appropriate. Council members did not take formal action on either matter during the meeting; staff contact and follow-up were offered for subsequent engagement.
