One commissioner suggested letting the consultant propose initial language and then having the commission dig into targeted elements rather than spending extensive time generating text from scratch.
Staff confirmed the consultant will present a draft housing element and promised to circulate the draft so commissioners can provide feedback. The commission also discussed outreach plans; staff described a pop-up event at Dan’s to survey local employees about barriers to living in Leavenworth and noted a $50 gift-certificate drawing aimed at boosting survey responses.
The commission asked staff to prioritize a clear set of goals and several discrete policy proposals in the draft so the commission can provide specific comments rather than very broad edits.
