Montco 2040 trail paving grant: The borough was awarded $250,000 under the Montco 2040 implementation grant program to fund trail paving work at Memorial, York, Susquehanna and Wissahickon parks. The grant requires a 10% borough match. Council members said accessibility concerns — for example, wheelchair access across cracked trail segments — motivated the project.
Playground and pool projects: Bids for West Fifth Street Playground site work are due June 11; the committee expects to award the contract at the June 18 business meeting to the lowest responsible bidder. White's Road pool renovation is under way: new paving and tiling are complete, shade sails, picnic tables and slides are expected to be delivered the following week, and daily hours will expand beginning June 18. A prefab restroom building for White's Road Park was scheduled for delivery at 11:30 a.m. the day after the meeting.
Meadows program and events: The borough reported about 2,200 pool members and a continuing meadows program; staff are exploring grants to fund an addition of a Hidden Valley grove to the program. Parks staff also highlighted summer events including concerts at Weitz Road Park and an invasive knotweed removal volunteer day at White's Road Park on June 28.
