The City Council approved an agreement allowing Montebello to assume management and administration of its tiny‑homes program, shifting oversight and county funds to city control.
City staff said the Sangre/Gateway Cities Council of Governments previously administered the operations and funding agreements for the tiny‑homes community. Under the approved agreement, the city will receive county funding directly for homeless services at the site and assume day‑to‑day administrative oversight.
City Manager Raul Alvarez said the change will not alter services or funding levels for residents of the tiny‑homes community, but will centralize contract oversight within city staff. The council voted to approve Agreement No. 4302; the motion carried by roll call.
