The department launched a Public Safety Resident Organization Engagement Initiative: leadership now conducts proactive monthly outreach to resident organization presidents and vice presidents, records the exchanges in the public safety record‑management system and brings issues to daily leadership huddles for resolution.
Public safety also reported that officers perform a monthly elevator check at high‑rise developments to test the emergency phone and ensure dispatch connectivity; those checks are recorded and contribute to officer activity metrics. Commissioners asked clarifying questions about activity by day of week and the department said scheduling changes and planned shift coverage aim to optimize coverage with limited personnel.
