Region 4 consultants reported results of community engagement for Spring ISD superintendent search: 1,207 survey responses, 121 meeting participants, and six top leadership themes. Trustees were told the board aims to identify a lone finalist in August.
Region 4 consultants told the Spring ISD Board of Trustees on Tuesday that community and staff input for the district's superintendent search emphasized a transparent, communicative, student-centered turnaround leader with experience driving measurable improvement.
Dr. Rudy Treviño and colleagues from Education Service Center Region 4 summarized the search process and findings after the district conducted surveys, two town halls, meetings with principals and a stakeholder committee, and one-on-one executive interviews. Region 4 reported 1,207 survey responses and about 121 participants in focus conversations; the responses were a mix of parents (66 percent of community respondents), staff, students and other stakeholders.
Region 4 said it distilled 39 initial themes into six priority areas: leadership style, experience and track record, communication and engagement, community and culture, student focus and staff support. The consultants summarized stakeholder feedback with language the group said was widely shared: "The ideal candidate is a courageous, transparent, and empathetic turnaround leader who is deeply student focused, highly communicative, and committed to empowering and supporting both staff and the broader community in the pursuit of academic excellence and holistic well‑being."
Consultants told the board the engagement aimed to produce a leadership profile the board can use during screening and interviewing. They recommended a timeline that would allow the board to name a lone finalist in August, subject to the board’s discretion and the usual finalist protocols.
Trustees thanked Region 4 for outreach work and confirmed the application window remains open through June 20; trustees said they will use the documented findings to proceed to candidate interviews.
