Councilmembers then pulled items 5 and 6 for discussion; following brief remarks and questions, the council voted to approve consent items 5 and 6 as written, recorded as 7–0.
Consent item 5 was a resolution (R‑16‑25) authorizing an interlocal cooperative purchasing agreement with the city of Saginaw, Texas, for cooperative purchasing of goods and services and authorizing the mayor to execute the agreement on the city’s behalf. Andrew Waits, director of public works, appeared for questions on that item.
Agenda item 2, an update on the South Ewell Road expansion project, was tabled because the engineer overseeing the project was not available for the meeting. A motion to table agenda item 2 was moved and seconded and the council set the item for consideration on June 17.
The council convened into executive session under Texas Government Code Section 551.072 (real‑property deliberation) and Section 551.074 (personnel matters related to the city manager). The council later reconvened to open session and the mayor stated there was no action required as a result of the executive session.
The meeting ended with a motion to adjourn, which carried on a unanimous voice vote.
