Whitehall-Coplay officials review $601,000 campus network upgrade under FCC E‑Rate; district share about $90,000

Weiner described the project scope as replacement of core fiber switches (three at the high school and multiple switches at the middle school and elementary schools) and replacement of wireless access points across the high school, middle school, Zephyr Elementary and Steckle Elementary. He said the district solicited bids from Drive Integration, IntegraOne and E Plus and used a weighted scoring system that prioritized cost, compatibility, technical ability and brand familiarity.
The recommended awards were to IntegraOne: a Cisco UPOE switching package priced at $105,378.90 and a Cisco Wi‑Fi 6E wireless package priced at $495,759. Weiner said that E‑Rate typically contributes 85% of such projects, leaving the district responsible for about 15%, or roughly $90,000. He said the project would be budgeted in the 2025–26 fiscal year (July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026) and installations would be phased with equipment in by September 2026.
No formal vote was recorded at the committee meeting. Weiner invited questions from the committee before the item is placed on a future agenda for possible formal approval.
