Hallandale Beach CRA restarts tree-planting program; kick-off May 31 at Ingalls Park

"We're going to plant 70 trees at Ingalls Park," Executive Director Dr. Earl said, adding the agency seeks volunteers for the planting. Dr. Earl said the city expects to give away two free trees per household at a Juneteenth tree giveaway scheduled for Thursday, June 19, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza (formerly Foster Park Plaza).
Dr. Earl said staff's goal is to plant about 500 trees across city locations beginning in June and that the CRA is seeking roughly 40 to 50 volunteers for the May 31 event.
No funding breakdown was provided during the presentation and staff did not identify specific tree species on the record.
