Board interviews student rep candidates; will notify winners by email rather than announce at meeting
Summary

The Phoenix-Talent SD 4 board conducted in-person interviews with multiple student representative candidates and said it will notify candidates of the selection by email shortly after the meeting rather than announce the result in public.
Candidates who presented to the board included Emily, Lincoln (a junior), Rachel Pepin (rising senior and former student rep), Danielle Santos (sophomore) and others who submitted recorded videos. Each candidate described outreach they performed — surveying peers about spirit events, assemblies, the talent show and prom — and summarized student feedback about school culture and engagement.
During deliberations the board said it had discussed all candidates and decided not to reveal the final choice at the meeting so that recorded applicants who were not present would receive the results at the same time. Chair Campbell said, "We're not going to announce our choice at the meeting tonight. We are going to send an email with our choices." The board said the email would be sent to candidates and that a crossover ceremony for current and newly selected student reps will take place at the next regular meeting on June 5.
Ending: Board members thanked the candidates and said they will follow up by email; the new student representatives will be introduced at the June meeting.
