Enterprise City Schools' Beta Clubs received formal recognition at the board's June 12 meeting after the district earned the National Beta District of Distinction.
Michelle Watkins, a Beta sponsor at Rucker Boulevard Elementary, told the board the district qualified for the award by offering National Beta at all schools and inducting eligible students in grades 4–12. Watkins said the district sent 364 students to the state convention and won 131 awards across the district; eight students were named premier performers and the district plans to take 50 students to the national convention in Orlando at the end of the month.
