Erin Nelson, serving as town manager, said she sent the drafted ordinance to the petitioners after the town attorney returned the document and that Pamela Yaras quickly responded with no concerns about the draft.
The ordinance formalizes a quitclaim-style transfer of the specified alley segment. Council members said the town maintains a standing policy limiting alley vacations — Bluff Resolution No. 59, adopted in 2022 — but that extenuating circumstances applied in this case. Councilmembers voted unanimously to adopt the ordinance; the document will be signed, returned to staff and filed at the county recorder’s office, and copies provided to the petitioners.
Council members and staff also noted that an originally scheduled budget vote was deferred because a few figures remained to be finalized with the county. The council said it expects to take up the amended FY2025 and tentative FY2026 budgets at its regular meeting on June 3, 2025.
