The Midland Planning and Zoning Commission voted to approve the preliminary plat for Westlake Addition Section 2, a replat of approximately 20.3 acres north of State Highway 191 to create two lots for future commercial development tied to Mid Cities Community Church.
Planner Britt Murray presented the preliminary plat submitted by Park Hill on behalf of Mid Cities Community Church. Murray told commissioners the parcels are zoned Regional Retail (RR), the proposal would replat the 20.3 acres into two lots to accommodate the church and an additional office building, and the property to the north lies in the ETJ without city zoning. Staff recommended approval of the preliminary plat subject to Condition A; no objections were received.
Commissioner Barry moved to approve the preliminary plat and Commissioner Bofield seconded; the motion passed 7-0. The approval advances the replat to the city's subsequent platting and permitting processes.
