Murray said the site is currently vacant, zoned Regional Retail (RR), surrounded by a mix of residential and commercial uses, and designated a Special Study Area in the Tall City Tomorrow plan. Staff recommended approval subject to conditions A through C and reported no objections.
No members of the public spoke on the item. Commissioner Richardson moved to approve the specific-use designation; Commissioner Sysnica seconded, and the motion passed 7-0. The commission's recommendation will allow the applicant to proceed with conditions outlined during the staff report and the standard permitting process.
