EMS headquarters nears punch list; county standardizes Riley County logo shade for signage

Riley County AMS Director David Adams told commissioners the new EMS headquarters construction has advanced into final finishes and is expected to reach contractor punch‑list stage by mid‑May, with administrative spaces ready for equipment moves before the apparatus bay and crew spaces finish in mid‑June.
"They expect to be doing their punch out, their punch list by mid May," Adams said, summarizing recent work at the site. Adams said windows, door frames and bathroom work are complete and that crews are scheduling tile, flooring and trim installations. On the administrative side he said furniture and equipment can start moving in after punch‑list work is accepted; the apparatus bay and crew living areas will follow.
Adams also reported minor design questions about exterior signage and color shades had been resolved: after staff review he instructed contractors to use the single Riley County logo color for both the county logo and the Star of Life emblem to ensure consistent branding. "So I said make both shades the Riley County logo shade," Adams said.
Site work continues: curb and gutter have been poured and some parking-lot pours are pending a retaining-wall change on the west side of the building. Adams said that change temporarily delays portions of the parking pour but that progress remains steady.
No formal vote was required for the construction updates. Adams said crews are coordinating punch-list and equipment moves with county staff and will report back when occupancy steps can be scheduled.
