Nevada Senate refers five bills to committees; press accreditation approved

The Nevada Senate on March 3, 2025 referred five newly introduced bills to standing committees and approved accreditation for a press representative, the chamber recorded during its brief floor session.
The referrals put the measures into the committee process for further hearings and deliberation. Lawmakers referred Senate Bill 260, on air quality provisions, to the Commerce and Labor Committee; Senate Bill 261, addressing housing matters, to the Judiciary Committee; Senate Bill 262, on graduate medical education, to the Committee on Health and Human Services after the Senate suspended Standing Rule 40; Senate Bill 263, involving minors, to the Judiciary Committee; and Senate Bill 264, relating to crimes against property, to the Judiciary Committee.
Senator Flores moved the referral of Senate Bill 260 to Commerce and Labor, and the motion was ordered without objection. Senator Donate moved to refer Senate Bill 261 to the Judiciary Committee, and that referral was also ordered without objection. Senator Pizzina moved to suspend Senate standing rule number 40 and refer Senate Bill 262 to Health and Human Services; the motion carried and the bill was referred. Senator Kenizaro moved to refer Senate Bill 263 to Judiciary, and Senator Stone moved to refer Senate Bill 264 to Judiciary; both referrals were ordered without objection.
The Senate also approved a motion by Senator Scheibel to accredit Emily Hodge as a press representative and grant access to media facilities in the Legislative Building. The clerk's record showed approvals adding sponsors on several measures: an approval adding Senator Rogich as a sponsor on Senate Bill 257; an approval adding Senator Titus as a sponsor on Senate Bill 96; and an approval by Senator Rogich adding Senator Cruz Crawford as a primary sponsor on Senate Bill 175.
Senator Cannizzaro moved that the Senate stand adjourned until 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025; the motion carried and the Senate adjourned.
The referred bills will now proceed to their respective committees for scheduling of hearings and further action.
