Bee Cave council fills preservation, planning and zoning seats; proclaims 'Terry Booth Day'

The Bee Cave City Council returned from executive session on May 27 and approved a series of appointments to advisory boards and commissions and presented a proclamation honoring local preservationist and cultural organizer Terry Booth.
The council approved Resolution No. 2025-29 appointing members to the Historic Preservation Committee. The resolution named James Bowles, Alicia Schoenher, Melissa Madden and Jody Spellman as committee members and designated participation by three council members on the committee: Mayor Kara King, Council Member Andrea Willett and Council Member Speracco. Council Member Andrea Willett moved the resolution on the record; the motion carried unanimously.
The council next approved Resolution No. 2025-30, which reappointed and appointed members to the Planning and Zoning Commission. The resolution reappointed Paul Vickery and Kirk Wright, appointed Darryl Davis and Petra Reynolds (reappointment requested by a council member), and reappointed Valerie Loomer. The council designated Laurie Wakefield as chair and Kirk Wright as vice chair. The motion carried unanimously.
The council also approved Resolution No. 2025-31 to appoint Steve Brosh as an alternate member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment; that motion passed unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting the council read a proclamation recognizing Terry Booth and declaring a day in his honor. Mayor Kara King read the proclamation, noting Booth's work preserving Texas cultural heritage and citing his involvement providing historical props for film productions and founding the Texas Heritage Songwriters Association. Booth accepted the recognition and thanked the council.
All board and commission appointments were adopted by voice vote with unanimous support from the council members present after executive session. No members of the public spoke during the appointments segment on the record.
