LAKEPORT, Calif. — During the May 20 meeting the Lake County Board of Supervisors acted on assessment appeal items: the board accepted withdrawals for seven appeals and approved stipulations that adjusted assessed values on two other appeals.
Assistant Assessor Dave Schwinger told the board staff had communicated with all appellants; the listed applicants requested withdrawals for the following appeals: Lower Lake Holdings (012024), Shaw Investments (112024), Bellig (122024), Lakeshore Drive (142024), DaVita (162024), Lisa Shannon (132024) and Maldonado (172024). The board approved a single motion to withdraw appeals A–G.
The board also approved stipulations for two appeals. One was a lakefront property (10/2024) for which staff accepted a reduced market value of $800,000 for the 2024 year. A second stipulation for Morgan Ranch Road LLC reduced the taxable value to $1,050,000 for 2024 because vines on the parcel were not maintained and the market listing price had been lowered.
Both the withdrawals and stipulations were approved by unanimous vote.
Why it matters: Assessment appeal outcomes change property tax assessments and can affect tax revenues and individual taxpayers’ bills. Stipulations typically reflect negotiated or evidence‑based valuations and close appeals without a hearing.
