Brenda Meitz presented the district's monthly financial report to the Board of Trustees on March 10, reporting year-to-date figures through January and updates on several fund types.
Meitz said general revenues were approximately $80.6 million year to date, with expenditures of about $62.2 million. Food-service revenues were about $4.2 million, roughly a 5% increase from the prior year and about $250,000 higher than that year-to-date figure; food-service expenditures were approximately $3.7 million, down from the prior year. Debt-service revenues were reported at about $32.8 million with a debt service payment made Jan. 31. Special revenue funds were at about 51.9% of budget through the comparable period. Childcare fund revenues and expenditures were about $484,000. Capital projects (oil and gas receipts) began the period at about $14.6 million; the district added roughly $580,000 and reported a remaining balance of about $15.185 million.
Meitz also noted that tax collections in January were significant for the fiscal year: the district collected about $27.2 million in January and year-to-date collections were at about 72.1% (as stated in the report packet). She directed trustees to the detailed payment list in the board packet for items over $10,000 and noted that expenditures included construction, food service activity and workers' compensation.
No board action was required on the monthly financial report; trustees asked no substantive follow-up questions during the public presentation.
