Safety update: 13 of 18 BISD campuses audited for intruder detection show no findings, superintendent staff say

District safety staff told the Burleson ISD board on March 10 that 13 of the district's 18 campuses have been audited this year as part of an intruder detection audit and that the audits conducted so far have produced no findings.
Scott Shea reported the update to the board and thanked teachers, administrators, school resource officers (SROs), school security officers (SSOs) and principals for their roles in maintaining safety protocols. Shea said that two campuses audited since the district's last meeting—Burleson High School and HACC—passed with no findings; with those audits completed, 13 campuses have been audited this year and all audited campuses had no findings to date.
Board members and staff characterized the results as a "team effort" and noted the audits reflect daily practices on campuses. No vote was required or taken on the audit update.
The report did not include specifics of the audit criteria or the remaining five campuses' audit schedule; district staff did not give a date for when the outstanding audits will be completed during the public portion of the meeting.
