Daggett County Commission approves invoices, disbursements and two CDL tuition requests

The Daggett County Commission approved the countyopen invoice register and disbursement listings and authorized two county employee CDL tuition payments during its meeting on March 27, 2025.

The commission approved the open invoice register for Daggett County by voice vote; the motion passed with two affirmative voice replies recorded. The amount ultimately referenced on the approval was $56,864.66. Commissioners also approved a payroll-period county debit reimbursement register for $116.20 and accepted the disbursement listing for March 2through March 7 showing county disbursements of $122,024.88 and a Daggett County RDA disbursement of $150.00.

The road department presented two purchase requests for CDL training tuition to Royal Trucking Services. Each tuition request was for $4,500. The commission approved payment of $4,500 for one employee and $4,500 for a second employee, for a total contractual exposure of $9,000 if both purchase orders are combined.

A county official said there was no sole-source form on file and that the staff did not see additional bids for the training; another participant noted that because the two purchase orders were written as separate $4,500 orders they did not trigger a combined-sum procurement threshold under discussion. The commission also approved a motion making the tuition approvals contingent on providing either evidence of competitive bids or a sole-source justification if a single combined $9,000 purchase order is required by procurement rules.

The tuition approvals were recorded as approvals by voice vote. Commissioners asked staff to provide a clean reimbursement register for signature and to follow up on procurement documentation for the training vendor.
