KFA expects needs-assessment deliverables March 31; April meeting to feature presentation and follow-ups

KFA staff said the statewide needs-assessment final deliverables are due March 31. The board will receive an executive summary ahead of the April 11 meeting, when CPPR will present findings focused on the three-horizons framework and topics such as treatment access and workforce.
Krista and Alyssa updated the board on the needs assessment and related outreach. Krista said deliverables from CPPR are due March 31 and the project team is refining the report for readability, accessibility and organization.
Alyssa described the accountability cohort of lived-experience experts who will meet to review the draft and provide final input. She said the board will see a presentation at the April meeting (April 11) focused on findings that municipalities can use; the team also plans a presentation at the MFAS conference in April that will highlight how municipalities can utilize the assessment.
The report will be organized using a "three-horizons" framework that outlines current conditions, a future vision and the pathways to achieve that vision. Board members requested an executive summary and highlighted interest in new findings that differ from prior needs assessments. Krista and Alyssa said they will provide an executive summary in advance of the April meeting and consider one or two supplemental Zoom sessions to drill into specific topics after the April overview.
Why it matters: the needs assessment will inform KFA priorities and future RFPs and funding decisions. The board asked that topics of special interest be sent to staff so the April presentation can highlight them.
