Residents urge against planning commission term limits; question consent agenda item on East Portal cabins

Two members of the public addressed the Board of County Commissioners during the Feb. 25 meeting, urging the board to reconsider proposed changes to the Planning Commission appointment process and to give fuller public consideration to a consent‑agenda item related to East Portal cabins.

Raya Ortner Roble, who identified herself as a member of the Gilpin County Planning Commission and gave her address as 369 Lower Moon Gulch Road, told commissioners she opposed proposed term limits (including a forced gap year) for Planning Commission members.
