The Delaware County Jail Oversight Board on March 12 voted to support sending a recommended award for the Farm Shop roofing and related repairs to Delaware County Council for approval.
Warden Paul Williams summarized the procurement: the Department of Public Works oversaw design and procurement after inclusion in the county capital budget, a pre-bid conference on Jan. 8 drew eight contractors, bids opened Feb. 12, and the procurement review team recommended EA Roofing Company LLC as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
Controller Phillips moved the board’s support for forwarding the award and Ms. McDonald seconded. Chairman called for discussion; hearing none, the board voted in favor. At the voice vote one member identified as Adam registered opposition.
Williams said that if county council approves the award and all Concord Township requirements are met, work would begin on March 24 and the project is expected to take three months with a projected completion date of June 13, 2025. He described the work as roof replacement and repair of soffits and turrets and said the project would address storage needs and protect expensive campus equipment.
Ending: The board’s support will be presented to county council at the March 18 preliminary agenda meeting and at the March 19 public meeting for possible approval and contract award.
