Planning Commission recommends returning 3150 Dutton Avenue to industrial zoning; three resolutions forwarded to council

The Planning Commission on March 13 voted 5-0 to recommend City Council approve three actions for a 5.95-acre parcel at 3150 Dutton Avenue: adopt an addendum to a previously adopted 2018 mitigated negative declaration (MND), amend the General Plan land use designation from medium-density residential to general industry, and rezone the parcel from R3-18 (R318) to IG (General Industrial).

Hannah Michaelson, the city project planner, told the commission the site is a vacant, undeveloped parcel located in the city’s southwest quadrant and is surrounded predominantly by industrial uses to the north, south and west, with fully developed residential neighborhoods across the SMART tracks to the east.
