Monique Stovall, the district's chief business officer, presented the list of vendors included on the ratification agenda, which combined to $49,939.06. Items listed included Black Oaks Speech Therapy, California Healthy Kids Survey, Victor Community Support Services, Newsela Inc. and Volar Strategic Advisors.
Trustee Virginia Coffey pulled the Victor Community Support Services item for clarification because the documentation included amended language that could be read to permit automatic annual renewal. Board members asked whether the amendment meant the contract would automatically renew without returning to the board.
Stovall and staff clarified the Victor MOU is a grant-funded, time-limited agreement for wellness coach services that currently ends on June 30, 2026. "This MOU is making it to where the the change is that it will no longer after 2026 of the services, it automatically renews every year," a staff explanation momentarily created confusion; staff then clarified: "It will end 06/30/2026. It will not automatically renew." Additional budget and funding details will be provided to the board, staff said.
Board action
Trustee Coffey moved to ratify the contracts under $35,000; Trustee Wong seconded and trustees voted in favor. Staff said that should they recommend continuing a service beyond the listed termination date, they will return to the board with details and a recommendation.
