The Taneytown soccer program reported 456 registered players for the coming season and confirmed scrimmages and the season opener as the community enters its busy spring schedule.
Kyle (Soccer program representative) told the Tony Town Athletic Association meeting that registrations include one elite team of high school players, 10 travel teams covering U-10 through U-14 ages, and 27 in-house teams covering clinics and U-6, U-8 and an in-house U-10 division. Kyle said in-house registration remained open through the next day and that officials expected the numbers to hold near that total.
The league plans ScrimmageFest on March 29 and opening day on April 5. Kyle said field use for the season will be spread across several sites: six fields at Robertsville Park, four at Memorial Park and four at Northwest Middle School. Storage arrangements for portable goals were described: the soccer program worked with the football club to store goals at the football site in the off season.
Kyle and other volunteers did not request board action at the March 13 meeting but asked the association to book the pavilion for ScrimmageFest and to coordinate field needs with Parks staff. Kyle said organizers will reconfirm orders and supplies as the fiscal year budget is finalized.
No fees or regulatory changes were announced; registration and scheduling plans were presented as operational updates.
