The Leavenworth County Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the final plat for Cheyenne Crossing, a phased subdivision, and an exception to how frontage is measured for one curved lot.
Planning staff told the commission the request (case DEV-24-147) covers the second phase of Cheyenne Crossing, a 13-lot phase. During final plat preparation one lot (Lot 9) lost frontage at the right-of-way because it sits on a curve; the applicant requested that frontage be measured at the building setback line, as is done for cul-de-sac lots. Staff reported Lot 9 meets the required width measured at the building setback line and that the plat otherwise complies with zoning and subdivision regulations.
Commissioners asked questions about the change in lot lines and heard from staff that the applicant was in attendance. The commission voted to grant the single requested exception and to forward the final plat approval to the Board of County Commissioners. The roll call recorded an 8-0 vote to approve the exception and another 8-0 vote to recommend final plat approval.
The commission’s action forwards the application to the Board of County Commissioners for final action; the planning recommendation and the record will accompany that docket item.
