The mayor reported the City Council will be asked on Monday to consider a resolution to name the pedestrian bridge in Harris Creek Park in honor of Linda Wardell.
“...we should consider naming it in honor of Linda Wardell and I told him he was, he was right on target because we are asking the council on Monday evening to approve a resolution that will make that decision and that will, if adopted, name the bridge in honor of Linda,” the mayor said.
Committee members expressed support for the proposal and praised Wardell’s volunteer work. No formal naming action took place at this committee meeting; the matter will be decided by the City Council if it places and adopts the resolution at its Monday meeting.
