The Architectural Review Committee on March 2025 reviewed contractor drawings for a new commercial building adjacent to Gustavo’s that will house Evergreen Liquors, recommended a draft ordinance changing rules for detached pool buildings for council first reading, and discussed design revisions at the Prospect Point redevelopment that add more brick to the project.
Committee members reviewed contractor drawings for the building next to Gustavo’s and suggested modifications, particularly to window designs, and asked for revised plans to be resubmitted, the committee reported. The committee also considered a draft ordinance that would alter rules for detached pool buildings and recommended the council approve the ordinance for a potential first reading at its March 17 meeting.
On Prospect Point, committee members said the unnamed grocery chain pursuing redevelopment revised its design after feedback. The developer added “a substantial amount of brick” to the grocery store elevation and other parts of the development in response to committee requests, the committee reported.
The committee indicated it will continue follow-up work: the contractor drawings for the Evergreen Liquors building are expected to be refiled with changes and the pool-house ordinance is scheduled for council consideration at first reading. No formal votes or enforcement actions were recorded in the committee’s discussion during this meeting.
The committee framed the Prospect Point design changes as responsive adjustments: members said the developer quickly incorporated suggestions about materials. The committee did not adopt or approve final plans at this meeting and noted further submissions and reviews would be needed before approvals are finalized.
