A motion to approve Resolution 24-25-12 was made and seconded; the board approved the resolution by voice vote with all present saying "Aye." The resolution will be forwarded to the district's members of Congress as a formal request for legislative action.
Board members emphasized the local consequences described in the resolution. In the superintendent's broader budget comments during the same meeting, district staff estimated the district faced approximately a $600,000 impact tied to the lapse in SRS funding.
The board's action directs district leadership to transmit the resolution to the district's federal representatives and to continue monitoring federal funding prospects during the legislative session.
